The Nice Guy

“Show business is my life. When I was a kid I sold insurance, but nobody laughed.”, Don Rickles

The legendary Don Rickles was an American stand-up comedian, actor, and author, branded and known especially for his insult comedy.

Don Rickles pretends to strangle fellow comedian Red Buttons prior to an Annual Stag Roast in Los Angeles.

Insult comedy was really his thing. It is a comedy genre that consists mainly of offensive insults directed directed at the audience or theater performers. The target of insults is typically individuals of the show’s audience the town hosting the show, or the subject of a roast.

That his why, ironically, he was called “Mr Nice Guy”, especially by his friends and fans.

Mister Nice Guy.

He has many famous and funny quotes, and the same way that I do, he also believed in the power of positive thinking. He once said ““Whatever you do to gain success, you have to hang in there and hope good things happen. Always think positive.” I love that!

Personally, I recently watched “Comedians in Cars eating Coffee” on Netflix. It is with Jerry Seinfeld as a host, every episode has a different guest and Don Rickles was one of them. I loved that episode, and Don, and wanted to know more about him and share it with you.

What do you think about that kind of humor? And what do you thin kabout Don Rickles, The Nice Guy…..?
