Successful people & Feel-Good basic!

“Quiet the Mind, and the Should will Speak” Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

“Oh it’s not for me!”, “I can’t do it”, “hey I don’t have the patience or time, I cannot sit still like that forever”, …. and so many other excuses that I USED TO HAVE ME TOO!

Meditation. There it is. The word is said. The theme is dropped. No don’t quit stay with me!!!!!

How starting with meditation feels like.

It would be easy for me to say that in those times of uncertainty, to help you with stress anxiety blablabla…. Well No! I mean it might help but it’s not about it.

Most of the successful people, not to say all of them, do meditate, and there is a reason why.

To name a few, there is LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner, Media owners Oprah Winfrey, singers, actors and artists like Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney, Hugh Jackman, Will Smith, Basketball player and legend Michael Jordan. Even Kobe Bryant used to say that he meditates every morning to anchor himself and control the day. All do practice meditation to help them be successful.

Yes SUCCESSFUL

Let the Magic begin!

You have to be persistent! It takes time to see the results and benefits. It is really with time that you start feeling the difference, on your behavior, personality, mood, work and so many other things.

I used to think that being as active as I am, I really cannot sit still, and do it. Even when I started, it was so hard for me to silent my thoughts, to relax and stop thinking about my day, what I have to do, and so many things at the same time.

It takes time. You have to believe in it and keep trying, and one day, the magic starts happening. It really changes your life for the better, but you have to trust the process in order to achieve that. It is an ongoing process, and the more you meditate the more benefits you get, and the better you feel.

Persistence is key.

I do meditate on a regular basis. When I don’t, I do feel the difference, and with time I really feel the need to get back at it. It is my place of haven. When I really feel bad this is the first thing I will think about doing to help me, to help myself by myself.

I would recommend anyone to try it. Even just 5 minutes a day to start, when you wake-up or before going to bed. You have so many different types of meditation. If you don’t know where to start, just search for a relaxing music, sit and close you eyes, breathe in, breathe out, relax, and try to stay still and calm yourself down. Believe me it feels good. It might not be easy at the beginning, but with time you will not be able to go without it!

Meditation is the practice of silencing your thoughts, or mental silence, and experiencing thoughtless awareness. It allows you to achieve a mentally and emotionally clear state of mind.

Many studies have shown that it changes the brain, to the better, to feel better and be more efficient. Based on science, it has been proven that it reduces stress, controls anxiety, promotes emotional health, enhances self-awareness, lengthens attention span, reduces age-memory loss, increases positive feelings, can help fight addictions (yes!), improves sleep, help control pain, can decrease blood pressure, and so many other benefits!

.

Did I convince you to give it a try? If you’re interested about more posts with more details about it, let me know!

What do you think about it, do you meditate? Or are you interested in trying?  And if you do I would love to know what type of meditation do you practice?

  1. From someone who does meditate everyday, I would have to agree with you 100% in regards to meditation grounding and balancing the soul.

Since I am a Christian, I meditate with prayer. Before I begin my day, I attempt to start my day off with stillness and quietness. However, in the crazy world we live in, it can be extremely difficult to quiet the loud noise of life that distracts us.

Once I get into the right state of mind, I am finally able to tune out the world. From that point on, my time in prayer/meditation is calm, focused, and fruitful.

Just like you, I notice my day is much more productive when I do have that quiet time in prayer/meditation…..I am more at peace, less irritable, and I am focused on being thankful for the blessings in my life.

    1. Thank you for sharing Leticia, I love it. Prayers are also a form of working on our soul, meditating, being more at peace and making us better on every level in our lives. I do that too sometimes :)) Even if as you say, in the world we live in, it can be overwhelming sometimes and not always easy to find the time for meditation, but it is so much worth it, that we always manage to keep up with it. It becomes kind of essential, and everyone should give it a try 😉
